Black Cherry Smoothie

Nourished Fact

There’s many reasons I add pumpkin seeds to my smoothie recipes: omega-3 fatty acids, protein, fibre magnesium, antioxidants like carotenoids and vitamin E, polyphenols, B vitamins, Iron, vitamin K, copper and zinc.

Yeah, Zinc is my #1 reason. Zinc is commonly lacking in most western diets and it’s easily depleted thanks to stress, smoking and alcohol. If you’re deficient, your skin willl tell you, but it’s key in making insulin, immune support boosting and I love it to help in guthealing . And if you’re trying your best to have a baby, better get your zinc!

Pumpkin seeds are natural healers. Vitamin E and minerals like zinc will promote healing and protect your liver. Eating a #plantrichdiet diet full of a variety of fresh fruit and veggies is always best. But don’t be shy to toss in those seeds and nuts! Zinc it up.
