5 Tips for a Happy Belly*

⚡️5 Tips for a Happy Belly (& a Happy Mind)

  1. REST & DIGEST: Losing sleep adds stress to your body, which alters your gut health leaving you feeling bloated, gassy, inflammation, and may lead to food sensitivities.

  2. WATER: Drinking water first thing in the morning will help your bowels start moving smoothly. A well-hydrated digestive system helps break down food so your body can absorb nutrients.

  3. FLOW: Exercise! Feeling bloated or sluggish? Getting 30 minutes or more of movement a day can ignite your energy and digestive fire. Take a walk, ride a bike, run, swim, hit the yoga mat, lift some weights. Whatever sweating you enjoy the most.

  4. INTUITIVE EATING: Having a healthy attitude about food can be healthier than the food itself. Go easy on yourself and allow yourself to eat the things you enjoy. Labeling foods as “bad” or “junk” can cause one to restrict and level you feeling hungry, and unsatisfied. aka ‘hangry’

  5. BEANS & GREENS: Eating fibre-rich foods can help to reduce inflammation & improve your gut health, leading to a healthier mind. If you’re starting to introduce beans into your diet, go low & slow. Add small amounts to your food to digest them smoothly and build a lifelong relationship with fibre.
